As a child, Adrienne Wong began her creative expression during kindergarten learning the alphabet and perfecting her penmanship. Writing her name was a favorite pastime, dotting her i's with circles, hearts and stars, and ending her name with swashes and curls. One day Miss Cherie, her 4th grade teacher, heaped praise on her still life of an apple, and her artist's desire was born. Her childhood influences are her Chinese heritage for ornament and tradition, the earthy Northern California lifestyle of hiking and camping, and the 70s handicraft movement of macrame and ceramics.
Fast forward to art school in Los Angeles, where she discovered that "graphic design" was what she had been doing all along. After graduation, moving to New York was a natural next move. Throughout her career in New York as an art director and graphic designer, her love of craft and typography has found an expression in letterpress printmaking. In 2000, Ms. Wong founded Double Happiness Design creating corporate invitations, baby announcements, wedding invitations and personal stationery. In 2005 she joined Karin Spraggs and created their jewel of a shop, Superdeluxe, which showcases their custom services, as well creating a forum for their exclusive products.
